Public Consultation on the preparation of a new Transport Strategy for the Greater Dublin Area
One of the functions of the National Transport Authority, under the Dublin Transport Authority Act 2008, is the preparation of a transport strategy for the Greater Dublin Area, comprising the counties of Dublin, Meath, Kildare and Wicklow.
The Authority prepared a draft transport strategy in early 2011, reflecting the plans and proposals that had been in development in the prior period. Given the significant changes that have occurred since then, it is appropriate that a review of transport across the region is now undertaken. Accordingly, the Authority is commencing the preparation of a new transport strategy for the region to cover the period 2015 to 2035.
It is intended that a draft transport strategy will be available for public consultation in mid-2015. As a first step in that process, the Authority is inviting views and opinions on what might be addressed in the transport strategy.
The earlier Draft Transport Strategy for the Greater Dublin Area is available for review.
This consultation is now closed.
