The Smarter Travel Mark was launched by the National Transport Authority (NTA) in May this year and has received a lot of early interest, with 18 organisations already reaching the standard to attain the Mark.
The Smarter Travel Mark was set up to recognise organisations that promote and facilitate active and sustainable commuting, making a real difference for employees, students and the environment.
Congratulations to the organisations that have been awarded the Smarter Travel Mark so far, including:
- Department of Transport
- Central Bank of Ireland
- Cork City Council
- Culture Co-Working
- Tallaght University Hospital
- Royal Irish Academy
- Dublin City University
- Google Ireland
- Dublin City Council
- DBFL Consulting Engineers
- Department of Agriculture
- PwC Ireland
- Houses of the Oireachtas
- MKO Planning & Environmental Consultancy
- Office of the Attorney General
- University of Limerick
- ESB
- Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII)
The NTA is now building on the Mark’s early success and is calling on more organisations across Ireland to get recognised for encouraging their people to walk, cycle, use public transport or carpool.
Any workplace or third level college that facilitates and encourages its employees and students to use sustainable transport can apply for the Mark. Making an application is simple and is free of charge.
