Sustainable Transport NTA Market Engagement
The 2021-2030 National Development Plan sets out an ambitious plan to invest €165 billion in Ireland’s infrastructure.
A capital investment of €35 billion is allocated for transport to enhance public transport, active travel and connectivity of communities, making it the largest commitment to the sector in the country’s history.
To deliver these critical transport infrastructure projects and programmes, a significant increase in the capacity of transport operators, local authorities, contractors, engineering consultants, suppliers, and the NTA itself is required.

What is NTA’s Sustainable Transport NTA Market Engagement
National Transport Authority Virtual Market Engagement – was a virtual meeting (event) held by the NTA in May 2023, discussing the National Development Plan 2021-2030, briefing contractors and consultants in Ireland and abroad on opportunities that arise as a result of National Development Plan (NDP) investment in sustainable transport over the next decade.
The key speakers were NTA CEO Anne Graham, Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan, and Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform Paschal Donohoe who presented Ireland’s National Development Plan, which is led by his department.
Sustainable transport programmes earmarked for funding in the NDP include BusConnects, MetroLink and DART+ along with an ambitious programme of active travel schemes around the country.
