In order to assist in the standardisation of traffic and transport surveys, the NTA have created a set of template traffic survey specifications and datasheets.
It is hoped that the template specifications will help ensure that all traffic and transport surveys carried out by Local Authorities and public bodies will be done so on a consistent basis, capturing the same level of data.
Similarly, standardisation of the resulting survey data – using the templates provided – will allow for greater automation in the processing, cataloguing and interpretation of the survey data collected.
