Bus Éireann, is pleased to announce significantly enhanced services and timetables on Route 423, Clifden to Westport which will come into effect on Sunday, 17 December.
Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan
The significantly enhanced Route 423 is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan, which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.
Route 423 will now provide a service from Clifden to Westport, expanding hours of operation to offer double the frequency of round trips, Monday to Sunday.
Greater connectivity with Clifden and Westport
The improved service will provide six daily round trips seven days a week, offering passengers greater connectivity with Clifden and Westport, with all services operating out of Westport train station.
Bus Éireann Route 423 will serve Clifden, Moyard, Letterfrack, Kylemore, Recess Cross, Salruck Cross, Leenane, Cuslough, Knappagh and Westport.
“Bus Éireann is delighted to introduce these improved services between Clifden and Westport, which will see double the frequency seven days a week. Our updated timetable means a single timetable across all seven days of the week which will enjoy expanded hours of operation. We will be offering early departures of 7.10am from Westport train station and 7.05am from Clifden, and 10.00pm late departures in both directions seven days a week, Monday to Sunday,” said Brian Connolly, Bus Éireann, Senior Operations Manager, West. “Thanks to the National Transport Authority, through the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan, we have added almost 1.8 million kilometres to our network this month, creating over 58 new jobs, this enhanced service will enable us to connect our growing number of customers with who and what matters to them.”
