During July a total of 9 unlicensed operators were detected in different areas of the country. These comprised:
- 2 unlicensed operators detected in Dublin;
- 2 unlicensed operators detected in Clare;
- 3 unlicensed operators detected in Cork;
- 2 unlicensed operator detected in Kerry.
In total during the month of July, 2,676 checks of small public service vehicles were undertaken by compliance officers. As well as the detections of unlicensed operators, 133 Fixed Charge Notices have been issued to drivers, with the majority of these penalties issued for standing illegally for hire or to drivers who were not associated to the vehicle that they were driving.
In July, the Authority received 86 consumer complaints. The majority of these complaints were regarding driver conduct or allegations of ‘overcharging’.
