An extra 600,000 people will be on the move in Dublin, in addition to the normal public transport demand

27 June 2024

June weekend 400x400 bannerFrom June 27th-30th Dublin and the surrounding areas will host several major concerts, festivals, parades, and sporting events. This means an extra 600,000 people will be on the move, in addition to the normal public transport demand.

The Transport for Ireland (TFI) public transport network, and commercial operators, will provide transport to and from these events however to ensure a smooth journey TFI recommend that-

  • Passengers travelling from outside of Dublin plan their trip and book tickets in advance for their chosen service.
  • Passengers travelling within Dublin should be aware that whilst services will operate as scheduled there will be extra pressure on public transport, which will impact some services. Some diversions and service disruptions will be in place and you may have to walk further than anticipated.
