TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan is enhancing two bus services from Kilnaleck to Cavan Hospital and Redhills to Cavan Hospital, from Monday the 4th of December.
Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan
These enhancements are part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.
Enhanced connectivity to regional bus routes to facilitate onward travel
Route C2 will be enhanced to extend from Ballinagh to Kilnaleck. This route will continue to service Ballinagh Health Centre, Cavan General Hospital and Cavan Town Centre. Route C3 will now service the Swellan area as well as Redhills, Ballyhaise, Cavan Bus Station and Farnham Estate.
Both routes will now operate eight daily return services Monday to Saturday with three additional evening return services on Fridays and Saturdays and will provide a new Sunday service operating seven daily return services. The enhanced routes will continue to offer peak-time and evening services for commuters and will offer enhanced connectivity to regional bus routes to facilitate onward travel.

Speaking ahead of the launch, TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan Manager, Padraic Smyth said: “Working in partnership with the NTA, we are delighted to deliver the enhancements to both C2 and C3 services in Co. Cavan.
“The enhancements to Sunday schedules, the extension of the C2 to Kilnaleck and the new alignment on the C3 is a welcomed development for local people in these areas. It serves to continue our targets of improving sustainable public transport options for the people in this region.”
