TFI Local Link Louth Meath Fingal is enhancing bus services from Balbriggan to Swords from Monday the 19th of February.
Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan
This enhancement is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.
Serving Stamullen, Naul, Oldtown, Ballyboughal, and Gormanston
Route 192 will be extended to Swords and will be the first public transport service to connect Stamullen, Naul, Oldtown and Ballyboughal. The route will continue to serve Gormanston.
Additionally, the enhanced route will see an increase in frequency and will now operate ten daily return services Monday to Sunday. It will also offer improved connectivity to regional bus and rail services in Balbriggan and regional bus services in Swords, facilitating onward travel to Dublin Airport.
Increased frequency and capacity
Speaking ahead of the launch, TFI Local Link Louth Meath Fingal, Acting Manager, Deirdre Murtagh said: “We are delighted to introduce this enhanced and extended service, route 192 Balbriggan to Swords, formally the Stamullen to Balbriggan route.
“Our enhanced service will offer increased frequency and capacity, with optimized schedules running seven days a week. We are committed to serving the transportation needs of our community, while also being sustainable and environmentally responsible to help to minimize our carbon footprint.”
