Over 120 new or enhanced services have been introduced

The Connecting Ireland (CI) Rural Mobility Plan is the National Transport Authority’s (NTA) plan to improve rural and interurban public transport services across the country over five years 2022 – 2026 inclusive.

Q3 2024, Issue 8 includes:

  • Over 140 new or enhanced services have been introduced since 2022 as a part of the Connecting Ireland Rural
    Mobility Plan.
  • Services in Action – People now using TFI Local Link services 100,000 times a day in rural Ireland.
  • New Services in Action – Route 186 Cavan to Baile Ghib via Kells
  • New or Enhanced Services implemented in 2024 so far
  • New or Enhanced Services to be implemented in 2024

Q2 2024, Issue 7 includes:

  • Over 120 new or enhanced services have been introduced since 2022 as a part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan.
  • In 2023, a total of 4.7 million passenger journeys were recorded
  • Services in Action – Minister Ryan launches two fully-electric vehicles in Dingle/Daingean Uí Chúis
  • Enhanced Services in Action – Route 458 Ballina to Enniskillen
  • New or Enhanced Services implemented in 2024 so far
  • New or Enhanced Services to be implemented in 2024

Q1 2024, Issue 6 includes:

  • Sixty-five new or enhanced services resulting in over 800,000 passenger journeys in 2023
  • Phase 2 Key Achievements
  • New Services in Action – Route 188 Athboy to Drogheda
  • Enhanced Services in Action – Route S2 Strandhill to Rosses Point via Sligo Town
  • New or Enhanced Services implemented in 2024 so far
  • New or Enhanced Services to be implemented in Q2 2024
