Partner Seminars

The purpose of the Smarter Travel Partner Seminars is to bring together partner organisations and provide Smarter Travel Coordinators with an opportunity to network, and to hear from high calibre speakers who are experts in the wider area of Smarter Travel.

Roundtables

Smarter Travel Roundtables bring together small groups of similar Partner organisations, either by location or nature of the organisations, allowing an opportunity to network with other Smarter Travel Coordinators, open up opportunities for discussion, collaboration and shared ideas and learnings. If you are interested in hearing more or taking part in a Roundtable please contact us!

Smarter Travel Student Awards

The Smarter Travel Student Awards invite students to develop a project that supports, facilitates and/or enables sustainable and active travel modes to, from, and on campus. The Awards give students to the opportunity to gain practical project experience that they can add to their graduate portfolio or CV, and have their work showcased at the National Student Awards Ceremony.

The Smarter Travel Student Awards are open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students of Campus Partners. For more information on this year’s Awards, please visit Smarter Travel Student Awards.

In this section, you will find a number of downloadable promotional materials as well as banner stands, which are available for partners for use when running promotional events relevant to Smarter Travel.

Walking

‘Do you know’ – Walking Poster

This poster can be edited to suit your organisation’s walking initiatives. It can be effectively used to promote the walking distance to nearby shops, local public transport networks, nearby office locations, and more. Download the poster, insert your workplace/campus logo, the time it takes, and the destination.

Walking Quote  – Banner Stand

This banner stand can be used when promoting your organisations walking initiatives to encourage a more active commute. You can display this in areas of high footfall such as the reception, the canteen, and the foyer. You can also use this on your organisation’s online platforms as a promotional tool.

Cycling

‘Do you know’ – Cycling Poster

This poster can be edited to suit your organisation’s cycling initiatives. It can be effectively used to promote the cycling distance to nearby shops, local public transport networks, nearby towns, office locations, cycle parking facilities, and more. Download the poster, insert your workplace/campus logo, the time it takes, and the destination.

‘Hey good locking’ bicycle security – Cycling Poster

This poster can be used when promoting your organisations cycling initiatives and encourage staff and students to lock their bike securely. You can display this in areas surrounding cycle parking facilities, information desks, canteen, and online.

Cycling ‘M-Check’ – Banner Stand

This banner stand can be used when promoting your organisations cycling initiatives and to encourage staff and students to carry out the bicycle ‘M-check’ to keep their bicycle in good health.

Cycling Quote – Banner Stand

This banner stand can be used when promoting your organisations cycling initiatives. You can display this in several locations around the organisation, as well as online platforms.

There are several downloadable guides available for Smarter Travel Workplaces and Campus Partners to use when planning, developing, and implementing sustainable and active commuting initiatives in their organisation.

The Smarter Travel Workplace Travel Plan – A Guide for Implementers

A Workplace Travel Plan is a package of measures aimed at supporting sustainable travel for work-related journeys. It comprises actions to promote walking, cycling, public transport, carpooling, the use of technology such as online meetings instead of travel, and flexible working practices.

The Smarter Travel Guide to setting up a Carpooling Scheme

These guidelines are for any business, public organisation, or educational organisation that would like to implement a carpooling scheme. It will bring you through the actions needed to take before setting up a scheme, as well as highlighting successful TFI Smarter Travel partner case studies.

The Universal Design Walkability Audit Tool

The Universal Design Walkability Audit Tool was developed as a collaboration between the National Transport Authority, Age Friendly Ireland, Green-Schools, and the National Disability Authority’s Centre for Excellence in Universal Design. This Audit Tool can be used to capture the existing conditions of a specified walking route in relation to its walkability.
