An SPSV driver licence must be surrendered in the event that:
- The licence holder is no longer operating or no longer wishes to hold an SPSV driver licence
- The licence holder is deceased
How to Surrender an SPSV Driver Licence
This should be done via the Garda PSV office that originally issued this licence. To surrender a licence you should provide the PSV Officer with the paper licence (PSV 15/18) originally issued by them and the driver identity and display card(s). An Garda Síochána will update the status of that licence and will notify NTA.
Note that once a licence has been surrendered, it can never be reactivated.
If you also hold an SPSV Vehicle Licence and wish to surrender that, this will need to be done separately.
